The map in my head started to piece together. I could look across the peaks and recognize places we've been in both Switzerland and France that I didn't realize were so close to each other. Running these these trails together, connecting the dots, merged memories of multiple runs into one bigger route, and familiar places seemed both well-worn and brand new.

LOCATION
Town: Champéry
Canton: Valais
Country: Switzerland
Kirra Balmanno following a worn track through rocky fields leads the way up to Col des Ottans.
The vertical rock wall looks impassable as you approach from the trail, but the corner is fitted with cables and ladders.
It's a long climb following cairns up to Pas au Taureau from Lac de la Vogealle. From the pass you start the descent back into Switzerland - steep and technical and fitted with chains for the down climb.
Only easy cruising below the Dents Blanches from Luibronne on the way back to Champéry.
